To Bless the Walk: Solo Flute on the Chartres Labyrinth

"To Bless the Walk: Solo Flute on the Chartres Labyrinth"
By Judith Tripp

These are the flute pieces and chants that
I recorded for a candlelit Labyrinth walk
in Chartres Cathedral on May 28, 2009.
You will hear the footsteps of the walkers,
the bells in the distance and feel the ambiance
of this sacred space as I respond musically
to the profoundly devotional experience
of the walk. Some of the pieces are recorded
near the labyrinth and some take advantage
of the remarkable acoustics of the 800 year
old Gothic cathedral as I stroll around the nave.

Long before Chartres was a center of
devotion to Mary, it was a place of pilgrimage
for our long time ancestors who honored
the sacred feminine in the old ways. Today,
we return again to walk the winding path
of the labyrinth, to visit Her candle-filled shrine
and to listen to the reverberations of the ages
in the vaulting nave.

May you walk with us in peace. ~ Judith

The way of the circle is the way of the soul. My psychotherapy practice, dream quests, pilgrimages and music each reflect ways of coming home to what is awake and alligned in each of us. In the circle we have the opportunity to see each other clearly and simply. Living in the circle we communicate from the heart. Held by the circle, we reach high into the transcendent realms of sky spirit and deep into the rich immanent realms of earth spirit . Connected, we remember our purpose and gifts.

My workshops, Dream Quests and Pilgrimages utilize meditation, prayer, music and the Chartres Cathedral Labyrinth to create an environment in which individual growth can take place.

My psychotherapy practices takes these same principles into the realm of dialogue and seeks to heal the wounds of the past that keep us from our true natures.

My music calms and inspires that growing true nature.
